Dr Daniel Taylor, Principal

Before he joined the college in January 2004 as an honorary Tutor he had several years of experience as Health Worker, Pastor, Bible College lecturer and Administrator. He has over 20yrs pastoral ministry experience.

 

His highly interdisciplinary education and training includes courses in social sciences, education, religion and theology. His writings include, Survey of the Hebrew Bible; Corinthians; Dynamics of Study and a number of articles on Social Action.

 

Dr Taylor’s current research, writing, and teaching interests are in the areas of biblical, theological, social Issues, pastoral care/counselling, religious education, philosophy of religion and science and religion.

 

 

Bishop Samuel Arthur, Lecturer
BCM; BA (Hons) (
Manchester); MA (Manchester)

 

Bishop Arthur studied at the Technical College in Ghana where he earned a Diploma in Engineering. He however felt called to the ministry and he was ordained in 1988. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry at Manchester Christian College.

 

Since his ordination he has established five churches in Africa and Europe. Between 1994 and the present he has held various positions including Pastor, lecturer. Until 2009 he was the Principal of the College. His interests lie in theological, historical and biblical studies.

 

 

Dr. Byung Ha Kim, Lecturer
BA; MDiv; MA; PhD (
Sheffield)

 

Dr Kim’s BA degree was in Public Administration from the University of Yonsei in Seoul, Korea. After that, he earned his MDiv degree at the Presbyterian General Assembly Theological Seminary of the University of Chongshin in Seoul, Korea. He earned his MA and PhD at the University of Sheffield UK. The title of his doctoral thesis was The Biblical Jubilee Elements and Their Transformation in the Second Temple Period.

 

Before joining Manchester Christian College, he worked as a fulltime lecturer at the Westminster Graduate School of Theology in Seoul, Korea. He was also involved in translating the Hebrew Bible and several English Bible Commentaries to Korean as a researcher at the Westminster Bible Society.

 

Dr Kim’s main research interest is the interpretation of the biblical jubilee law and its application into modern society. His teaching areas are in theological and biblical studies.

 

 

Miss Michelle Welch, lecturer
BA (Hons), (Manchester Poly); BD (Hons) (
London)

 

Miss Welch is a graduate of Manchester College where she studied for the University of London External System Bachelor of Divinity degree. She is a serving member of Compassion Prison Ministries and is also involved in community activity, mission work and outreach work. Michelle has a teaching ministry and is the author of a number of publications including Real People Real Lives. She currently teaches History, Society and Religion.

 

 

Miss Valerie R Collins, Registrar/Lecturer
BA (Hons) (Gloucestershire)

 

Before she joined the college in June 2004 she had several years of experience as an administrator and has worked within the health and social sector. She has ministered in Zambia on short-term missions; she is a Leader in a French Speaking African Church, and Founder of The Zambezi Connection (a charity working with widows in Zambia). Her research interest is in Counselling which she also currently teaches.

 

 

Mrs Rita Owusu, Finance Officer
BA (Hons) (
Manchester Met); ACCA (Level 1)

 

Mrs Owusu is a graduate of business Administration and finance and ACCA level one. For several years she worked as a Bank Clark in Ghana. She was the Practice Manager and Finance Officer in a Dental Practice in Manchester.
